Editorial Policy

Sourcing

Every factual claim is cited to one of: peer-reviewed literature, a trial registry entry, a regulator's own publication, or a statute. Where a claim rests on a single small study, the page says so. Where a claim is commonly repeated but we cannot source it, we do not repeat it.

Citations carry a DOI, PMID, trial identifier, or a direct link to the regulator's record, so that a reader can check us without taking our word for anything.

The evidence hierarchy is visible, not implied

Human randomised trials, human observational data, animal studies, in-vitro work, published case reports and uncontrolled anecdote are kept in separate sections and labelled. They are never blended into a single narrative. Most misinformation in this field comes from animal data being described in language that implies a human finding.

Authorship and review

Every substantive page names its author. Compound and safety pages additionally require review by a qualified medical reviewer, and pages touching legal status require legal review. Reviewer names and credentials appear on the page and on the editorial board.

Where a required reviewer seat is currently unfilled, the affected pages say so plainly rather than implying a review that did not happen. Our current review status is on the editorial board page.

Dating

Each page carries a publication date and the date it was last substantively reviewed — meaning a human re-checked the sources, not that a template changed. Entries that pass their review interval are flagged as ageing rather than left to look current.

Fact separated from interpretation

What a study found and what we infer from it are visibly distinct. We do not publish dosing protocols framed as recommendations, and we do not describe an unapproved compound as safe or effective on the strength of preliminary data.

Corrections

Errors are fixed promptly. The correction is noted on the page itself and logged in the public corrections log with what was wrong, what it now says, and the date. We do not silently edit substantive claims.

Commercial independence

No vendor pays for coverage, placement, tone, or an evidence grade. We take no affiliate revenue on compound sales. Ownership and any commercial relationships are disclosed on the disclosures page.

AI use

Automated tools assist with literature monitoring, drafting and formatting. They do not decide an evidence grade, and no page publishes without human editorial review. Automation is a research aid here, not an author.
